Tillingham W.I.

Although a very small village, Tillingham has a thriving W.I. which are involved in all village activities. Our meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at our Village Hall
from 7.30pm – 9.30pm.

We have an Art Group here on Friday afternoons from 1pm – 4pm. While not restricted to W.I. members we did receive W.I. funding which helped to establish the Group.  We meet in the Local Congregational Chapel Schoolroom, South Street. If you would like to join us please contact me on 01621-778938.

We are able to display a selection of our work at Tillingham’s bi-annual Art Festival, held in June.  I think you will agree from the photograph we have been quite productive especially as none of us are professional artists, although we do have occasional tuition from a local artist.

2004 was a very special year for Tillingham as we celebrated a 1400 year association with St Paul’s Cathedral. Members of the Branch decided to celebrate this association by placing flowers throughout the Village this has proved so popular that we have continued with them and this year we have been awarded a grant of £500 to replace the containers.  These are being constructed with the help of some of our husbands and painted by our local Hobbies Club.

Over the last few years we have entered into the spirit of the Tillingham Flower Show  and entered a float.  We try every year to be topical and those of us not involved in the Float are involved in the running of the Handicraft & Horticultural Marquees.

Tillingham W.I. certainly like to enjoy themselves as can be seen on one of their recent outings.
