To celebrate the 90th year of W I we had a sort of
evening Teddy Bears pic-nic. Members were asked to dress in green and white and
to bring a small tea and of course teddy. The hall
was decked out in green and white bunting.
We were entertained by Maldon Morris dancers who were pleased to see
their colours displayed by the flags, we explained that they are the W I
colours. Some of our ladies had a go at the dancing, not waving hankies but
wielding pick axe handles. We thought we might start the first W I morris
dancing group!! Numerous teddies came along to join in the fun and we toasted
the anniversary with wine. All in all a fun evening and we look forward to the
Essex anniversary in 2007.
