HOMESTEAD

Homestead W.I. meet in South Weald Parish Hall, London Road Brentwood at 7.30 p.m. for 7.45 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.

Our aim for the year is to continue to promote the values of all W.I. fellowships, but we are no Jam and Jerusalem group. We have a good mixture of monthly speakers, an associated competition every month and a bi monthly raffle. Our social secretary arranges a variety of outings during the year, which includes anything from theatre to Christmas shopping. Other splinter groups are held which includes knitting for premature babies, and the very popular weekly walking section.

Each year we select a local charity, and raise money for that charity through our charity table. Last year we were pleased to support Cemetery Gates, a small nursery garden in the London Road Cemetery, which encourages and supports work of the disabled. This is not the only charity that we support, others are usually for third world countries, and organised at national level.

We are open to new members and would be very pleased to welcome you at our meetings. The annual membership fee is £29.00 which includes a monthly magazine WI LIFE delivered to your home.

Please come along: we are a very friendly bunch.
