EEWI was formed in 2007 by Niki Stevens, our President and a group of friends and local women. Having seen the movie Calendar girls and the comedy series Jam and Jerusalem Niki started to think about what was going on in her local area for women. A WI branch seemed like a place where all local women, from different cultural backgrounds, class, age and ability could meet. EEWI meets twice a month. Our evening meeting is usually the third Tuesday of each month at Chisenhale Gallery, Chisenhale Road, E3. The gallery is a charitable organisation whose mission is to enable and promote innovation and experimentation in contemporary visual arts and art education. It is an accessible venue.
