This Committee consists of eight members, including a member of
Country Markets

 

Its remit is to:

Cover all crafts offering practical hands-on opportunities

Encourage members with an interest in a special craft to further their knowledge by taking ONC certificate courses enabling them to pass on information to fellow members

Provide interesting days so that members can come along and enjoy speakers, covering a wide range of craft subjects, flower arranging and promote cookery of all types (not just jams and preserves)

Getting to know your Sewing Machine

Friday 4th September
10.00am - 3.00pm


WI Centre, Hatfield Peverel
Ticket cost £15.00 to include kit.

 

A Sewing machine can be your best friend when you know how to use it.

Whether you are new to the world of sewing machines or would like to have a refresher on how to use yours, this workshop is for you.

You will complete a bag with a zip (kit included in ticket price)

Please bring a packed lunch.  Tea and coffee available

 

CHENILLE PATCHWORK BAG

10.00am - 3.30pm
Cost £15.00

Come along and create a beautiful Chenille Patchwork Bag.  Strips of different coloured material are layered and machined together.  The technique used produces a wonderful textured finish to a very versatile bag. 
You will need a sewing machine

Please bring a packed lunch with you.  Tea/coffee will be available
 

BLACKWORK
WITH PAM TROTT

10.30am to 3.30pm
Price £15.00

Blackwork is a counted thread method of embroidery, using straight stitches worked on evenweave fabric.  Katherine Aragon brought blackwork to England in 1501 although its origins go back to the thirteenth century.
Members who were unsuccessful for the June workshop, will be given priority this time, please state when ordering ticket.
A kit can be provided at a cost of £5.00
Please remember to ring a packed lunch with you.  Tea and coffee will be available.
